Pondering a Life of Childlessness (poem)

Maybe we’re the lucky one’s here

Now we don’t have to live in fear

Of a child coming to harm

Or breaking their arm

Are we the lucky one’s here?

Maybe we’re the lucky one’s here

Now we don’t have to endure so near

The tantrums and rows

Tears and furrowed brows

Are we the lucky ones here?

Maybe we’re the lucky one’s here

Now our money’s our own my dear

No expensive dependants

Just treats and adventures

Are we the lucky one’s here?

Maybe we’re the lucky one’s here

We can live our life in high gear

No sleepless nights

Just romantic delights

Are we the lucky one’s here?

Maybe we’re the lucky one’s here

Our dog will be of good cheer

No jealous urges

Only spoiled splurges

Are we the lucky one’s here?
